FriFotos: My favorite bountiful things – flowers, chocolate, cupcakes, wine

When I think of this week’s FriFotos theme of “bountiful”, fruits and vegetables come to mind.  Given that my fruit and vegetable consumption is barely scrapping the bottom minimum of the food pyramid daily requirements hence no photos, I figure I’d find other interpretations of “bountiful” for me – just a few of my favorite things – flowers, chocolate, cupcakes and wine!  I’ve also added two things that I wish were more bountiful.

Flowers in Pike Place Market, Seattle

When I stay near the market, I love to buy flowers to keep in my room – they just make me smile and who doesn’t like to smile?

Chocolates and Cupcakes in London

I’ve mentioned many, many (too many) times my addiction to Paul A Young Chocolates and they are definitely bountiful – so much so that picking just one (or three) truffles is hard work in narrowing down the many choices. Equally as addicting are the Hummingbird Bakery cupcakes.

Visiting the vines around the world

I’ve loved visiting the many wineries around the world so far (Chile, France, Italy, South Africa, Australia), seeing the grapes grow and watching the process to produce great wine.  Bountiful grapes are a good thing, a very good thing.

Things I wish were Bountiful

The African Rhino – seeing this animal in person on safari made me sad that they are being poached everyday.  There are good people trying to protect these pre-historic looking creatures, sadly, the big business that is rhino poaching doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon.

Time

Time seems to become elusive as we get older – we cherish more, we savor it more and we want more.
