Arriving in Terminal 3 with nine hours to fill, I went to explore the Butterfly Garden, one of many gardens to visit at Changi – the others are Cactus, Enchanted and Sunflower. The butterfly garden located in Terminal 3 is a two level home to over 1,000 species (I think I saw four species) of butterflies. I entered on level 3 and was immediately hit with the change in tempature and humidity.
On this level the waterfall is on your left and the stairs leading down to level 2 on your right. The main floor on level 2 has the trees with butterflies.
Some butterflies were flying around while others stayed in the trees. I instantly forgot I was in an airport as I got up close and personal with my Iphone for photos.
The garden has signage which is easy to read about the life cycle of the butterfly which is educational for all. At the time, there were about ten people in the garden which made it easy to walk around, it was almost like having the garden to myself. While listed as a great kids activity in the airport, I think it is good for kids of all ages. I spent about 1/2 hour visiting the garden – a nice distraction in the airport.

Never realised that Changi airport is one of the best! Can’t believe there’s a butterfly garden at the airport!
