When was the last time you saw a butterfly? Up close and personal? For most of us, I would imagine that we’ve all see the caterpillar stage but rarely the butterfly in our daily lives. Sure you can go to the zoo, but how often do you really do that? For me, I hadn’t expected to see the butterflies on my vacation but Singapore’s Changi airport gave me the opportunity on my layover to do so –
When planning my flights to Melbourne on my award ticket, I was able to add stopovers (up to 24 hours) so I planned to sample a few cities along the way. My first stopover was Seoul where I stayed overnight (sleep only) at the Hyatt Regency. My second stopover would be Singapore where I would have nine hours until my midnight flight to Melbourne. The Changi airport has won many accolades for being the best airport in the world for it’s many offerings. People actually recommend spending hours before your flight to explore the airport – really? Who really wants to spend more time than they need to in an airport? After downloading the Changi app, I immediately realized why people make the airport a destination in itself, it really offers something for everyone and can keep you busy for hours.
